U.S. Whole-House UVC LED Case Study: AGLED-40012
Agua Topone supplied an AGLED-40012 UVC LED water sterilizer for a residential whole-house water treatment project in the United States. The project used an existing copper line serving a private-well system. The installer needed a compact point-of-entry unit that could keep up with normal household demand and still leave the valve, controller and service points easy to reach.

Project overview
This was a retrofit rather than a new treatment skid. The homeowner wanted a final microbial-control stage for the well-water line, so the installer had to work around the existing copper plumbing and the wall space available.
AGLED-40012 was placed after the filtration or conditioning required by the water analysis and before water entered the household distribution line. Keeping the shut-off valve, threaded connections and driver accessible was part of the layout too, giving the installer a practical way to check and service the line later.
Why AGLED-40012 was used
AGLED-40012 is a point-of-entry UVC LED water sterilizer with a published flow class of 12 GPM / 45 L/min. The 154 × 289 mm catalog envelope suited the available installation area, and the G1 female ports gave the installer a clear connection point for the local copper pipework. Its 100–240 V AC input and separate 5,000-hour driver made it practical to keep the display available for checks without opening the plumbing. The UVC LED module is replaceable, so planned light-source service does not require replacing the complete reactor.
Instead of sizing from average daily use alone, the installer looked at the home's highest simultaneous water demand. Pressure, pretreatment, pipe size, valves, elbows and adapters were considered together as part of the complete line before the model was confirmed.

Installation and handover
The installer supplied the application, expected flow range, pipe material, available wall space and electrical conditions. After the model and connection arrangement were agreed, Agua Topone prepared the reactor, driver and project documents for delivery.
In the finished layout, the reactor sits below the main copper run, the controller is mounted beside it, and the upstream shut-off valve remains visible. The field photo was returned after installation and records that completed arrangement.
When the shipment arrived, the customer sent Tina this note:
“Tina, We received the shipment today. Everything was packaged very well. Boxes were strapped tight to the pallet and shrink wrapped. The product was packaged nicely in the boxes as well. Very impressed! Have three or four units sold already so I will be installing some next week. If everything works good we will soon need to work on another order.”
Project result: From the available records, we can confirm that AGLED-40012 was integrated into the whole-house line with the main service points accessible. The record covers delivery and physical installation only; no site-specific UVT, pressure trace or post-installation microbiological result was provided.

Keep the reactor close to the main pipe route, leave the valves and threaded connections accessible, and mount the driver where the display can be read. The final installation drawing should also confirm pipe support, flow direction, service clearance, drainage and protected electrical routing.
Planning a similar private-well installation
In this project, AGLED-40012 was used as a stand-alone microbial-control reactor. It was not intended to replace filtration or water conditioning. A UV system for well water (opens in a new tab) treats the water passing through the reactor; it does not remove sediment, hardness, iron or manganese.
Check the water before selecting pretreatment
Use the laboratory analysis, turbidity and UVT to decide what filtration or conditioning is required before UVC. The correct arrangement depends on the source water rather than a fixed filter sequence.
Size the system for peak demand
Compare the model's rated basis with the home's highest simultaneous demand. Filters, valves, elbows, pipe size and adapters can all affect the installed flow and pressure.
Look beyond the reactor if a sample is positive
Confirm the sampling point, reactor status, actual flow and water quality, then inspect storage, dead legs, fixtures and downstream plumbing. A reactor treats passing water; it does not automatically sanitize the entire distribution system.
Retest under normal operating conditions
Record the operating condition and use a qualified laboratory for the required source and downstream samples. Follow local guidance for routine well testing and for additional checks after flooding, repairs or changes in water quality.
This type of installation is often described as a whole-house UV water filter or UV water treatment system. Private-well testing in the United States
Private-well requirements vary by location. This project record does not include a state, county, contaminant level or site laboratory result, so those details should be confirmed for each installation.
The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends testing private wells at least annually for total coliform bacteria, nitrates, total dissolved solids and pH through a state-certified laboratory.
